Saranac Review 3rd Edition

Submission Guidelines

Our editorial scope is eclectic, and open to all styles, but we are looking for work that is literary, engaging, well crafted and has resonance. We are not interested in genre fiction (eg. Sci fiction; horror, etc.) or light verse. We suggest that any writer interested in submitting work to read a copy of the journal. Subscribe or obtain a sample issue for $5.

The Saranac Review is an annual so there is a relatively long time between submission, report time and publication. Report time varies, but normally we respond to a submission within 4 to 6 months. SR purchases First North American Serial Rights. After publication, rights revert to the author. At this time, SR is unable to pay its contributors. We offer two contributors’ copies, extra copies at a discount, and a free subscription for the issue following publication.

Please follow the specific guidelines below:

  2. We accept poetry, fiction, non-fiction, inter genre pieces and translations. We are also very interested in publishing Canadian writers.
